It's Summer Time!
|
|
 
Last Sunday after Ummi finished her night shift, we went to Cottesloe Beach which is one of the city's most popular places for swimming, surfing and snorkelling. It's only about 10mins driving from our place. Everyone knows, kids love beach play! Lots of things they can explore there. As it was only a short family outing, sure we will come back again! Enjoy the photos!

Kelahiran Mawar Mujahidah - Ash-Shifaa' bt Mohd Zairil
|
|
Alhamdulillah we have been blessed once again with the birth of our first baby girl, whom at last named Ash-Shifaa'.
She was born on 31st of May 2008 (just 1 week after her brother's birthday) at about 1.15pm, at Family Birth Centre, King Edward Memorial Hospital For Women, Perth.
Shifaa' weighed 3.52 kg and was 51cm long. Alhamdulillah, normal delivery and Abi was there to give full support to Ummi.
Now there's a new branch on the family tree and seems like we have expanded our house by another two feet!

Caversham Wildlife Park
|
|
Nenek, nekcik dan paksu from Malaysia ziarah kami sekeluarga di Perth sempena kelahiran mujahidah pertama kami (gambar n cerita tunggu next entry ye..)
Talhah dan Abi sempat bawa nenek, nekcik dan paksu jalan2 ke Caversham Wildlife Park in Whiteman Park (15km from Perth).
First time Talhah pergi wildlife park, he was so happy meeting and feeding the animals.

Between the River and the Sea

Assalamualaikum..
Gambar2 Talhah di river/sea dekat dengan rumah, tak jauh dlm 3 minit driving. Rumah kami di Mosman Park. Petang2 dan cuaca baik selalu bawa Talhah keluar, tapi lupa bawa camera before ni.. baru2 ni pergi lagi so ni lah gambar atas permintaan ramai .
Indahnya alam ciptaan Tuhan,
Alangkah damainya ditepian pantai
Disitu terserlah kebesaran-Mu

During the recovery process....

First few days after discharge, Talhah was unsteady on his feet because he was bed-bound during hospital admission. Alhamdulillah now he can walk, run back and forth, jump and kick his favourite's ball forward.
Jalan2 kat depan rumah je...  A chance for him to run around outside each day to build his strength and increase his coordination.

Salam semua... rasanya ramai dah tahu Talhah was very very sick before ni, and was admitted to Fremantle Hospital on 19/03/2008. At first, GP suggested to send him to Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH), but we thought lebih mudah di Fremantle Hospital as ummi dan abi pun kerja di sana.
He was diagnosed with Streptococcal pneumonia with pleural effusion. It was a long admission, after an exhausted 18 days (for ummi and abi) baru doctor kasi discharge. He was presented with 8 days of cough, spiking fever and dehydration. Most of the signs of pneumonia ada pada Talhah (first few days memang ramai medical students datang to take history from ummi and examine him - so tiring talking about the same thing everyday ). So what are the clinical signs for pneumonia? - tracheal tug, subcostal and intercostal recession, decreased air entry and creps left to mid to lower zone with decreased expansion of left chest wall. Also dull to percussion on left lower and mid zones.
Talhah was placed on IV antibiotics ceft and fluclox, which was then changed to penicillin and vancomycin according to blood culture results. His pleural effusion was drained but TPA was given due to loculated effusion to break down the fibrous walls. The chest catheter was placed at PMH kat ICU, so Talhah was transferred by ambulance. He also required blood transfusion during admission secondary to haemolytic anaemia (Hb dropped to 44). He was slow to settle at first but his condition improved with the drainage of the pleural effusion, alhamdulillah. Tak silap 5 kali buat xray and 2 kali ultrasound during admission. IV cannula memang selalu replace, most parts of his body dah kena cucuk dengan doctors including his jugular vein.
Now he still on oral antibiotics for a total of 6 weeks (ada lagi 2 weeks) but that will depend on his repeat chest xray results in 2 weeks time. Plus paeds clinic review hujung this month, immunology and cardiology follow up soon.
